Jessica and Louis chose to do their e-session at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens, in Krugersdorp last Saturday.  It looked like the heavens were going to open up at any point, but thankfully, again, we were blessed with not even a little drop of rain 🙂

The Gardens are always a great place for photos, and they are really well maintained and looked after.

Jessica and Louis were great… a little stiff when we started (as is the case with most couples), but they quickly got into the mode of it and by the end, were posing like super stars 🙂  I really love these e-sessions… they certainly help to break the ice, and now I know in Feb, on their wedding day, we don’t have to feel awkward with each other!

Karen & Jamie, Summer Place, Boksburg

Karen and Jamie got married at the beautiful Summer Place in Boksburg, on Saturday the 19th of November 2011.  It was a gloomy day, weather wise, but everyones spirits were high and Karen was the most calm, relaxed and happy Bride considering.

Karen looked spectacular in her dress from Bride & Co, and Jamie looked dashing in his suit from VIP, Boksburg.

It rained a bit during our Bridal shoot, but we still managed to get some spectacular images and Karen and Jamie’s Bridal Party were all hands on board with umbrellas and helping out 🙂

All in all it was a beautiful Wedding and we wish Karen and Jamie all the very best.  May you have a long, healthy and prosperous Marriage filled with lots of love and happiness (and even some little kiddos at some point ;-))

Shalene & Sheldon at The Palace of the Lost City

Shalene and Sheldon tied the knot at The Palace of the Lost City, at Sun City on the 5th November 2011.  It turned out to be a spectacular day with great friends and family, good food and fun and dancing 🙂

On Friday the heavens opened up, in a big way… but by Saturday afternoon, the skies were beautifully blue and it was the kind of weather you’d expect from Sun City, hence the name LOL

Shalene looked absolutely gorgeous and Sheldon was glowing…although a bit nervous.  When he saw Shalene for the first time, he was so emotional and it was and absolutely beautiful moment.

It was a fantastic wedding and we are totally blessed to have been a part of it.

Thank you Shalene and Sheldon, we wish you a long-lasting, prosperous and happy marriage!

Shanliza and Ian tied the knot at the beautiful Sunvalley Wedding and Golf Venue on Saturday 29 October 2011.  It was a day filled with great atmosphere, and a lot of men in Kilts 🙂  Once again, the weather held out for us until after all the photos were taken, all in all it was a nice day to be out and getting married!

Shanliza looked absolutely breathtaking and made such a beautiful bride, and Ian looked really handsome and so proud!

Thanks Shan and Ian for a spectacular day, great food and most of all for entrusting Douw and I with capturing this once in a lifetime occasion.  We hope that every emotion and experience will be remembered when you’re looking at these photos back in Scotland 😉

Pregnancy Photo Sessions… Why?

Many people cannot understand the value of Pregnancy photos…  What is the point of taking photos of a preggy belly?

I remember bits from both my pregnancies.  The emotions I felt when I found out I was pregnant.  Even the discomfort in the last weeks of pregnancy before delivery.   What I don’t remember is the way I looked, although everyone would compliment me on how beautiful my skin looked, how lovely and healthy my hair looked and the list goes on…. How I wish I had captured those memories, preserved them, so that every time I look at the photos, it would arouse those same emotions that I felt when I was pregnant.

A pregnant woman, is a radiant woman.  And the husband, a very proud man 🙂  Make sure you capture this very special time so that it is documented in history… for you, your husband, your children and their children!

Palesa and Vusi did, and all their emotions, joy and happiness will be forever documented 🙂

Matric Farewell Time

Yes… it’s that time of year again.  Final Exams, Matric Farewell’s… the life.  Jessica had her Farewell last September, 2010.  She looked absolutely fabulous and so did her friends and I’m sure they had an absolute blast 🙂

Tyron is a professional MMA fighter in the EFC Africa (Extreme Fighting Championship) Series.  At EFC Africa 11, on the 10th November, 2011, he’ll be up against Jacques Joubert and has already had victories against Tez Makuebo and Paul Terreblanche, winning knock out of the evening at EFC Africa 10 against Paul in a mere 44 seconds 🙂  BOOM!

I shot Shanliza and Ian at Zoo Lake on the 24th October 2011.  Temperatures were around 34 degrees Celsius… it was damn hot 🙂

Shanliza and Ian are getting married at Sun Valley Wedding and Golf Venue on Saturday the 29th October, and although originally from South Africa, have been in Scotland for the last couple of years, so the heat and sunshine was no hassle for them.

I must also say, Zoo Lake is wonderful during the week… we had the whole place to ourselves… just about!

Thanks Shan and Ian for a great time, I really enjoyed the shoot and getting to know you.  Douw and I are really excited about Saturday and hope you enjoy the sneak peak 🙂

Shana’s Batmitzvah

This was quite surreal for me.  Apart from it being my first Batmitzvah shoot, it was also a special occasion for a special friend and her daughter.  I worked with Michelle, Shana’s Mom, for many years and was in awe when Mish asked me to photograph this very special event 🙂

I knew Shana when she was a cute little baby… and to be a part of her special day, as a beautiful, grown up girl, was just out of this world. Capturing these memories was very special for me. What a fantastic party!  It was an honour to be a part of this and Douw and I are so grateful to Michelle and Mike for the opportunity.

Mish, Mike, Shana, Jarrod and Aiden… stay as special as you are we love you stacks! MWAH 😉

Shalene and Sheldon at The Military Museum

On the 9th October, we did Shalene and Sheldon’s Engagement shoot at The Military Museum, in Rosebank.

It was an early day for Douw and I.  Watching the Rugby at 7am on a Sunday (#justwrong).  Needless to say, the Bokke lost to Austrailia (ARRRGGHHH) and I won’t get into much detail about the game or the “ref” 😦  The photoshoot was great fun and Shalene and Sheldon did a fantastic job, even in the scorching heat of the morning!  My spirits were definitely lifted during the photoshoot and all sorrows of the SA loss were FAR from my mind 😉

The Museum is just a fantastic place for photos, and if I didn’t control myself, I probably could have spent all morning there LOL, but I think we would have all melted in the heat 🙂

We are so looking forward to shooting Shalene and Sheldon’s Wedding in November at Sun City.  You two are naturals behind the camera and I just know on the day you are going to look and be spectacular!
